In many graphite ores, crystalline graphite is a kind of ore with high fixed carbon content and low impurity content, and its separation and purification process is simple. Crystalline graphite ore can be divided into dense crystalline graphite ore and flake graphite ore. there are great differences in the properties of the two ores, and the beneficiation process of graphite ore is also different. For the dense crystalline graphite ore, the fixed carbon content of the ore is high, and the impurity content is low, so it can be directly exploited or the mixed waste rock can be removed by manual separation.

For the flake graphite ore, the larger the scale, the greater the use, and the higher the natural price. However, the reserves of large flake graphite ore are very few in nature. Therefore, attention should be paid to the protection of large flake graphite in the beneficiation of this kind of ore. The stage grinding and stage separation process is usually used to separate and purify the graphite, and the large flake graphite separated from the monomer can be separated in time by the stage grinding and stage separation process. In order to obtain high purity graphite products, there are a lot of cleaning times in the process of graphite flotation. Graphite is a natural floatable ore, which can be selected by adding No. 4 oil or without collector.

For aphanitic graphite, the fixed carbon content of the graphite is 60% - 80%, and its particle size is very fine, and the impurity content is more complex. In addition to crushing and grinding before flotation, gravity separation may also be used for pre concentration. In addition, for the graphite ore with complex ore properties, flotation may not make its purity meet the requirements of industrial use. After flotation, chemical beneficiation is needed to further separate and purify it.

Due to the differences of graphite particle size, content, impurity type and other properties, the beneficiation process of graphite ore in each concentrator is also different in actual production. In the design of beneficiation process, the ore properties should be fully studied.
